Symptoms
Young leaves show the symptoms first. They are pale with a yellow, later often reddish margin. New developing leaves remain small, stalks are thin and growth of the complete plant ist stunted. Yield is reduced.
Reasons
Sulfur deficiency
Sulfur deficiency often occurs temporarily during periods of low temperature. Nitrogen deficiency also results in uniform chlorosis, but the symptoms start on the older leaves then. Leaves affected by S undersupply do not die back from the tip as often occurs with N deficiency.
