Symptoms
Nitrogen deficiency symptoms occur on older leaves first. The leaves become yellow and in cases of severe deficiency they turn whitish and die off. The veins of the leaves do not remain green. Growth of the plant is stunted. Younger leaves show a light green colour and stiff appearance.

Reasons
Nitrogen deficiency (right plant). Yellowing leaves can be found with sulphur deficiency, too, but chlorosis then starts from the younger leaves and they do not show a whitish colour.
